You can add a usage hint to each term to encourage users to use a term correctly.
Use of usage hints
You can define usage hints individually in your company, depending on the general structure and usage scenario of your terminology and the general "text activity". These can be, for example, advice in which text contexts, for which target groups or documents a term should be used, or also warnings in which contexts a term is inappropriate.
Usage hints are also suitable for defining certain exceptional cases for the use of terms that are rather unusual and are not already expressed by the classification of the respective subject area or the termbase.
Example: The term "pendant luminaire" replaces "pendant light" in collections after 2019. In catalogues, please use only for older collections.
Adding usage hints to a term
To enter a usage hint, click on the pencil icon on the right in the expanded term window.
This opens the editing form for the term, in which you can enter the usage hint in a free-form text.
Then click on Save to save the hint. The usage hint will then be shown in the term window.
