How do I import my current terminology into Lexeri?
At present, we import your termbases, glossaries or word lists into Lexeri as we are still optimising the interface for Lexeri users to manage import themselves.
We can import formats like TBX and proprietary CSV or Excel files directly into Lexeri. Please send us any terminology you have in different formats so that we can convert them if necessary.
To do so, simply send us an email at support@lexeri.com.
What opportunities are there to acquire terminology?
There are different ways for your company to begin acquiring terminology. If you prefer to start small and have the in-house capacities and expertise, you or individual colleagues can work in small teams to establish your initial terminology in Lexeri and build a basic foundation. Colleagues can also use the term request and discussion functions in Lexeri to suggest terms and then define them as new terminology.
The automatic term extraction function is available if you wish to obtain large terminology datasets from your current documentation. We would be happy to take care of this task using our proprietary self-learning programme and will send you a list of term candidates . If you prefer, you can make the final decision on which terms are relevant to your needs and should be added to the termbase.
Contact us at support@lexeri.com if you require help.
How do I benefit from terminology?
The answer to this question becomes apparent if you consider the document life cycle in a company: Reproduction and translation of texts adds an even wider reach to the corporate vocabulary, which may lead to a propagation of errors and inconsistent terminology. This can create a virtually irreversible muddle, especially in companies pursuing global growth, multilingual teams, agencies serving hundreds of clients and due to the proliferation of marketing channels.
These errors can have a serious impact on the organisation’s image and corporate identity, just like they would in the company logo. Consistent and well-maintained terminology is therefore an absolute prerequisite for a universally professional and competent brand image.
Accessible terminology, regulated terminology workflows and the efficient use of terminology are also reflected in staff satisfaction and motivation within the company. This leads to a facilitation of text creation processes, an enhancement in text quality and increased staff interest in actively contributing to corporate language.
What should I do if there simply aren’t enough resources at the company to work on terminology?
We are happy to take charge of all (or part) of the terminology work in Lexeri on your behalf. You and your staff will then be able to access ready-to-use corporate termbases in which you can conduct research and add comments. Our services include monolingual or multilingual terminology acquisition/term extraction, as well as terminology production and maintenance. To do this, we work with a pool of experienced terminology experts and translators.
We also coordinate with you the exact processes and conditions, e.g. which of your company documents are suitable as a basis for our work and how you would like to contribute and make decisions. Just send us an email at support@lexeri.com for more information.
Which workflow suits the company?
Lexeri allows you to assign individual user roles to staff members and design workflows to meet your needs and match your current processes.
You can appoint qualified staff members to manage tasks in Lexeri and assign roles that are suitable for them.
It’s also up to you to decide which roles they need and how they will collaborate in Lexeri: As terminology manager, do you want to remain in control of all term entries, so create and add them to the termbase? Or would you prefer to appoint another terminology manager to take charge of term requests, create terms or delegate these tasks to terminologists at your company?
We will gladly assist you in developing a tailored workflow.
And we can also manage certain user roles in Lexeri if you require additional help with your terminology work. Just send us an email at support@lexeri.com if your require information.

Why must I log in with a Toptranslation or Diction account?
Lexeri was developed by Toptranslation as an extension of its translation platform. The Toptranslation and Diction account can be used for Lexeri (and vice versa) to enable a virtually seamless transition for customers.
