You can automatically export your Lexeri termbase to a termbase in your RWS Trados. Here we show you what you need for this and how to proceed with the configuration.
What you need
Lexeri connects to the RWS Trados via an interface. A so-called service user should be created for authentication. This service user can only log on to RWS Trados via the interface and uses the following data for this purpose:
- client ID
- client secret
- tenant ID - sometimes called Trados Account ID
We will explain how to create this data in RWS Trados in the next section.
You can also find more information on this at:

Create service user and create client ID and client secret
Tenant ID
You can obtain your tenant ID by logging into the RWS Trados Enterprise web interface, clicking on your initials in the top right-hand corner and following the link to "Manage Account":
On the page that opens, you will find the tenant ID under the nameāTrados Account ID".
Client ID and client secret
Create a service user
You need a so-called service user for the client ID and the client secret. This can only be created by administrators of RWS Trados. You can find more information here: https://languagecloud.sdl.com/lc/api-docs/service-users-and-custom-applications
As administrator, click on "Users" in the web interface of the Language Cloud and select the tab "Service Users".
To create a new service user, click on "New Service User" and give the user a name and choose a suitable group, e.g. "Terminologistsā.
Create an application
Next, as administrator, create a new application and add the service user to it. To do this, click on your initials in the top right-hand corner and select "Integrations":
Here, select the tab "Applications" and then click on the button "New Application":
In the form that opens, enter a name for the new application and enter e.g. "https://app.lexeri.com" under URL. Select the service user you have just created as the service user:
After you have clicked on "Add", the created application is listed. As soon as you click on it, a dialogue with detailed information is displayed.
Use the "Next" button to go to the second page ("API Access"). The client ID and the client secret are displayed here. Copy both and have the data ready for configuration in Lexeri.
Create automatic export
Once you have the tenant ID, client ID and client secret, you can proceed to create the automatic export in Lexeri. For this you need the role of the administrator.
To do this, first go to the settings of your termbase and select the tab "Exports".
Select system
Next, click on the button "Schedule automatic export" and select RWS Trados, then click on "Next".
Create API configuration
In the next step, you will be asked for the previously created data. Fill them in and click on "Next":
Select Language Cloud termbase
In the next step, select the RWS Trados termbase that you want to overwrite with the term entries from your Lexeri termbase and click "Next":
Select the interval of the automatic exports
The next step is to select how often you want to export the Lexeri termbase to RWS Trados. Select one of the suggested intervals and click on "Next":
Select languages to export
In the last step you can select the languages to be exported. Then click on Save:
Pause or delete exports
After you have gone through all the steps, the dialogue closes and you will see the newly created export plan in the list of automatic exports.
Here you can pause the automatic exports or delete the plan.
