Batch or mass editing of terms allows you to select multiple terms and carry out the same editing process for them.
When you hover over the term list, the selection button that lets you activate batch editing appears. Click on the button or activate the small toggle.
Checkboxes appear next to the terms in the list, along with an editing menu where the selected terms are collected and can be edited.
In the term list, use the checkboxes to select the terms for which you want to perform the same editing action.
Use the "Select all" button to select all displayed terms in the term list.
You can also use the advanced search to set a filter beforehand to narrow down the selection.
The selected terms are collected above the editing menu. Use the button on the top right to expand or collapse the area.
You have the following editing options for the selected terms in the editing menu:
- Edit usage status:
The usage status selected here will be applied to all selected terms. The usage status previously set for the terms is overwritten. - Add subject area:
The selected subject area is added to the entries of the selected terms. - Edit attributes: Selected attributes for which multiple selection is possible are added to the term; selected attributes for which multiple selection is not possible are either added or overwrite any attribute value already set in the term
- Delete all: This will permanently delete all selected terms from the term database. The entries remain unchanged.
Clicking on the information that you wish to edit in the editing menu opens the available selection options, and you can then specify the value to be added.
Click on "Save change" in the confirmation dialog to make the change.
Please note that a change may be difficult or impossible to undo.
After editing, the terms remain selected, and you can make further edits or use "Deselect" to remove the selected terms from the selection and choose other terms for editing.
Use the Close icon at the top right of the editing menu to close the selection mode and exit batch editing.
