For our software development customers, we have now published our first version of a Visual Studio Code Extension in the Visual Studio Marketplace.
This can be used to check text-based documents that you have opened in Visual Studio Code for correct terminology.
Supported file formats
The Lexeri extension for VS Code is particularly intended for documents with UI texts. The following file formats are currently supported:
- JSON
- YAML
- PO / GNU gettext (.po)
- Java Properties (.properties)
- RESX
- SRT subtitles
- Apple Strings (.strings)
- Twine
- Xliff
- HTML
- and much more.
Installation
You can install the extension from VS Code's Extension Marketplace. To do this, click on the extensions icon in the VS Code activity bar and search for “Lexeri”.
Alternatively, you can also find the Lexeri extension in the Marketplace via this link: https://marketplace.visualstudio. com/items?itemName=Lexeri.Lexeri
Usage
The Visual Studio Code Extension can be used like any of our other plugins and add-ins. After installation you will find a Lexeri icon in the activity bar. Click on it and you will see the start view of the extension.
In this you can manually search a term database for a term or start a term check of the currently open document. Important: The current document must have been saved beforehand, otherwise the extension cannot find the file.
As in our other plug-ins, the term hits from the term check are displayed as a list and can be expanded for more information. You can also jump to the respective strings using the eye symbol.
Beta version
This is the first version of our extension for Visual Studio Code. We have many more ideas for the extension. If you have a request or have found a bug, please let us know: info@lexeri.com
We look forward to it for your feedback!
